Brain Blogger will review the latest interesting news in
neuroscience, psychiatry, and neurology; on brain disorder related
stigmatization and discrimination; and will occasionally integrate GNIF
news, PR, and events. It will serve as a focal point for attracting new
minds into the science of the brain and the biopsychosocial model.

Brain Sciences & Neuropsychiatry |

Brain
Sciences & Neuropsychiatry will serve as the official journal of
the GNIF. It is an novel open-access scholarly publication that will
chiefly presents articles related to the basic neurosciences underlying
the neuropathology of and pharmaceutical interventions for neurological
and neuropsychiatric disorders. The Editorial Board is in procurement.

Distance Education Division
|

Adherent
to the GNIF mission to further brain-related studies, increase
molecular psychiatry research, and freely disseminate information, the
Distance Education Division serves as the free and open-access gateway
of structured educational certificate programs, courses, and campaigns.

Ethics in Mental Health |
|
|
The
Ethics in Mental Health project is a collaborative campaign with mental
health agencies, commissions, and other foundations to reduce mental
health stigmatization and discrimination.

The
Knowledge Center of the Neuroscience Initiative serves as a free and
open-access article and news database on neuroscience, psychiatry,
neurology, psychology, biotechnology, and social aspects of brain
disorders for the lay audience. This once independent project has
merged with Brain Blogger.

Living with a Brain Disorder [website] |

The
Living with a Brain Disorder partnership project of the Initiative aims
to provide an unedited insight into the often mysterious mind of brain
disorder patients by publishing interviews and professional commentary
with afflicted individuals of mental health and neurological disorders.
It aims to identify socio geographical etiologies, impact of
stigmatization, and further health promotion.

Neuropsychiatry for Kids |
|
|
The
Neuropsychiatry for Kids project will encompass a comprehensive school
study session primarily for elementary-middle schools on neuroscience,
neuroanatomy and functions, and common neurological and mental health
disorders. It includes high tech Flash applications, web pages, and
print media.

Surgical Webcasts [website] |

In
collaboration with the OR-Live by slp3D, a major Internet Broadcasting
company, the GNIF is distributing free and open-access neurosurgical
and neurological archived Surgical Webcasts for afflicted individuals,
medical professionals, and the general public. There are associated
free Continuing Medical Education (CME) and/or Continuing Education
Units (CEU) options.

Therapeutic Recreational Centers |

The
GNIF is establishing free and open-access Therapeutic Recreational
Centers (TRC) throughout the world primarily for individuals afflicted
with physical and mental health disorders of all ages. The services of
the TRC will help patrons to develop and use their leisure in ways that
enhance their health, independence, and well-being.

Visual Brain Application |

The
Visual Brain Application project will provide a visualization and
description of brain disorders, neuroanatomy, and neurotransmitters
using advanced Flash technologies. As a free and open-access
application, the project will rely on copious links and search
capabilities to the US National Center for Biotechnology Information
(NCBI).
